I just just got my first Mac, what are some of the essential applications I should know about?

Aptana (Freeware)

MAMP (Freeware)
The abbreviation MAMP stands for: Macintosh, Apache, MySQL, and PHP. Often sought after and now available from webEdition Software, MAMP installs a local server enviroment in a matter of seconds on your Mac OS X computer, be it PowerBook or iMac.
