How do I update my Mac OS X operating system?

  1. From the Apple menu, choose System Preferences to open the System Preferences window.
    Apple menu then Software Update
  2. Ensure that all the listed software updates are checked then click Install items.

  3. The software updates will be downloaded and installed automatically.

  4. If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Restart, otherwise click Quit.
    Software Update Complete
