- Close any running program then click Start > My Computer.
- Right-click the desired hard disk to defragment then select Properties.
- From the Tools tab, click on Defragment Now.
- Select the desired disk then click Defragment.
- The disk will now be optimized.
This process my take up to 2-3 hours to complete.
- Once the defragmentation process is complete, click Close.
